Hi everyone, we're hoping to package a Glutton release in about a week. Since Glutton is still unstable, this means that we don't have to test the hell out of it. On the other hand, we probably still want to avoid unneccessary embarrassment.
Thus, for the next week (or for however long it will take to finish the release) starting monday, please be mindful of what you submit to the main repository. For feature additions and nontrivial restructuring, please withhold the patch until after the relase (to avoid complex interdependencies). For other, smaller changes, please tag the patch as "[non-release]" or something along these lines if you feel that you do have to submit it, so that we know not to use it for the release. Ideally, the only patches that should go into the repository for this week should be bugfixes, and those only if we (a) have a rough idea of what effect they have and (b) commit some time to testing them. Also, any testing this week would be appreciated. I don't expect any games to fully work or be finishable, but it would be interesting to see exactly how and where they break. We should also do a simple functionality check with at least the major platforms-- OS X, some Linux, Win32, all on AMD64/EM64T, and perhaps the latter two on IA32 also-- later this week, once we have a release candidate. I can do Linux/AMD64 and Linux/Alpha (still alive!). Any volunteers for the other platforms? -- Christoph _______________________________________________ FreeSCI-develop mailing list [email protected] http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/freesci-develop
