Actually Digium has nothing to do with this... The whole problem is the Patents held by The G729 Consortium, and 2 other companies...
Contract Initialtion Fees, and initial Royalty payments end up making it very cost prohibitive for most people to shoulder (we're talking a nice 5 digit number just to obtain the priviledge to pay the royalties) Can it be done yes, will it happen yes, when is the real question...
