I think that macro IS defined, this sounds like a messed up
bootstrap. Could you bootstrap and configure again and see if it helps?

I can’t answer what the difference of the trunk version compared to
version 1.0.x is. Anyhow I have the same problem with the snapshot

Somehow I think the AX_COMPILER_VENDOR is undefined when called, but
I’m not at all into the autoconf-world, and I waste time trying to
