Despite all the idiocy that went into the SIP RFC, he's right that it's the "future" (how's mod_h323 coming along?). Being logically and intelligently designed for the task at hand isn't a prerequisite for popularity (see: HTML apps).
For a more enjoyable read, try the Sip V4 draft: http://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-kaplan-sip-four-oh-00.txt Some gems: "But this is not the real world, this is the IETF." ; "Accept-Language - honestly, did anyone ever use this?" Even better, at least one person on the sip-implementors list took it quite seriously. -Michael From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Michael Collins Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2008 12:58 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Freeswitch-users] Slightly OT: SIP Article Guys, I know how much you all just *love* SIP, so I thought you might be interested in chiming in on this article: http://blogs.zdnet.com/carroll/?p=1877 -MC _______________________________________________ Freeswitch-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users http://www.freeswitch.org
