If you want to use codec2 over the internet alone rather than an RF link, and maximize the packet loading, what you get is really a sort of paging. And it's a pretty good protocol for paging. For walkie-talkie style chat a 10-second delay isn't that practical. For anything local, like a conference presentation, bandwidth isn't a factor, you have lots of it
