Hi,

Just a small message to note that I've pushed a new version of the
gmskmodem for codec2 on github.

In the Makefile, it is now possible to configure if you want ALSA
support or not.
Just uncomment one of these two lines in the Makefile:
USEALSA = YES
#USEALSA = no

Removing ALSA support also removes the need for alsa libraries and the
"realtime" extensions (kernel-driven interrupts). Without the ALSA code,
the program can still be used to encode/decode raw wav-files.
However, the mean reason I made this change is that this should make it
easier to port the modem to a windows / cygwin or some other unix (like
macOSX ???). However, as I do not have any windows, I am not able to
test this.
So if somebody would be willing to give this a try and report back, that
would be a great help.

What would also be interesting is a test to see if the audio wav-files
and .c2 files are exchangable between different platforms / OSses.
Perhaps there might be some issues with endianess that need to be fixed.
I will try this aspect on my pandaboard (ARM) and a debian mac mini G4
(PowerPC).

I've also started some test to see how the code can be converted into a
shared object / DLL.
