For stuff that's meant for users, I suggest that we use Codec2-XXX, where XXX is a modem/protocol designator like "HF". The reason is that we can communicate the project ethos (cross-manufacturer, no royalty, all Open Source) and the potential to gateway a codec stream between modems and protocols without any lossy codec conversion.
