Header: I think this should contain the same basic information as the header does in D-Star. Sync: This should be enough different that a D-Star transceiver won't sync by accident, but still be close enough that existing open-source D-Star software won't need significant modification to handle Codec2, either as separate from the original applications or user chosen configuration options for the originals.
