Ah, no the problem is on my main PC (where I have all the codec2 tools
setup) I can set the record device to "what you hear" and do this fine. And
I have cool edit to do the recording fine.
On my work laptop, which I was using to monitor the web SDR in Eindhoven,
that option doesn't exist. In any case, I was trying to work Phil in
Northern Ireland. But, propagation wasn't doing us any favours. He tried to
record me on the SDR but going only mixed results (could make out two words
from my CQ call only).
I am severely limited by my initial license conditions (10w PEP maximum).
However all going well I should be moving up the ladder soon.
We are hopefully going to try this the other way round with Phil
transmitting, and myself receiving. Since he can operate at a higher power
level. So, all going well another report should be posted shortly.
