Richard,
I really appreciate your (and anyone else's) work on CMake for this
project. Autotools is always a source of problems, and I have never had
the time to try to understand its darker corners. CMake has worked very
well for me on some very complex projects.
My work has been almost entirely been done with MinGW on Windows. I
haven't had time to build on Linux lately, and I use Ubuntu and its ilk
rather than members of the RedHat clan. Not out of any preference, that is
just what is here. So there are many things I can't easily test, and time
has been in especially short supply this spring.
Please don't thing that no one considers this an important contribution. On
projects like this communication seems to come in lots of spurts and
gurgles, like a hose with air bubbles.
