David, have you made any provision for differential (noise cancelling) mic 
elements?  I'm thinking that noise rejection and/or directionality may be 
desired in various applications, so that might be something to consider in the 
electronics... and also I wonder whether some resultant degree of 
comb-filtering might have interactions with the codec.
