Since development in the freetel suite of programs seems to be accelerating
and a few more people have their fingers in the proverbial pie, I think
it's time to start talking about integrating unit testing into the build
system to help prevent breaking things like they are now.
CMake also has a program CTest which is designed to do just this. When used
it creates a "make test" target.
I think we should start with the most basic and easiest to implement just
to get something going. I remember recently seeing a check for codec2 where
the diff should produce no output. That should be very easy to implement.
I volunteer to integrate the tests into the build system but I need
everyone's help in developing the tests themselves.
