A small suggested modification / enhancement for freedv. Since the call sign is transmitted at all times when I key the TX, a useful feature would be a log entry (file) logging time, call, and possibly SNR, when getting a synched carrier.
Reading this file from a unattended freedv station, would enable construction of a web page telling: 12:34 SM6FBD SNR 5.4 dB 14:16 W4ABC SNR 13.9 dB etc. This would illustrate all traffic heard on a certain frequency and thus be a "reverse beacon" system. It would also help in determining scheds with various Hams based on when they are heard.
