Well, it is a lossy compression :-) Wouldn't it be neat if there was a lossless compression of the same ratio?
The vocoder looks at the stream of PCM audio in 10 ms segments. There is a lot of processing that goes on to encode/decode each 20 or 40 ms chunk, but I don't think any state (the voice models) are retained. It's job is to produce a compressed digital representation, or a PCM representation of the digital. I guess the answer is, that the analysis is not retained, as it is no longer needed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BPM Camp - Free Virtual Workshop May 6th at 10am PDT/1PM EDT Develop your own process in accordance with the BPMN 2 standard Learn Process modeling best practices with Bonita BPM through live exercises http://www.bonitasoft.com/be-part-of-it/events/bpm-camp-virtual- event?utm_ source=Sourceforge_BPM_Camp_5_6_15&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=VA_SF _______________________________________________ Freetel-codec2 mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freetel-codec2
