Hi
I think there is too much pain with visual studio, you will fight it all the way.

And the reality is, why not just run Linux inside a Virtual Machine on your windows box ?

Life will be much kinder to you.

My desktop machine is a Windows8-x64 box, and I have 6 different Linuxs VMs running for all my development work. This gives me the best of both worlds.

If you have not used Linux before, the initial learning curve wil be steep but very worthwhile and satisfying. There is LOTS of help in forums. There  is not one question I have had EVER that has not been answered already by a google search.

I have just started working in codec2 code so need a little help regarding compiling techniques of its code.
Should i directly run the .c format files on visual studio to check the outputs?or is there any other way of compiling the codes?
if so then which is the main file from the folder to run the whole process?
Let me know if any tutorial is available.

Regards,
Haseeb Ahmad
