Hi Alan,

This Lora is driving me nuts, it seems I am asking questions they cannot
answer, or I am stupid.
Here is a description of the downlink strategy (sigfox seems to have the
same strategy, only they have a window in which the base can talk back)
http://www.rfwireless-world.com/Tutorials/LoRaWAN-classes.html
I can also not see anything about how lora handles clashes on the downlink
slot. (2 gateways in the same area)

I have seen chip manufacturers advertising -148dBm for the 292bit/s
channel, but the lora alliances gives it at -136dBm, this is still very
impressive.

Nowhere can I find anything about multiple transmissions of the same class
in a spectrum slot, I do see they say different spreading factors do not
interfere with each other.
They do talk about detecting a "busy" channel.

The more I look at this the more I smell a "rat", lora talks about 63
channels on 868Mhz (nearly the whole ism band on 868), we do not have that
spectrum on 434Mhz only on 1296. gateways will be expensive sx1301 clocking
in at us$70 for 8 channels and that does not include the two $7 radio
frontend chips. Any guy looking at lora on a commercial application will be
swamped with the spectrum license fees, in South Africa the cost of a 5mhz
pair is about us$150M and the cellular companies goes on auction for this.

Am I missing something here?
