Your updated patch works on both Raspbian and Ubuntu. Thanks for the
update.
I was also able to install the new library and then build FreeDV 1.3
with this 'cmake' line:
cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DUSE_STATIC_CODEC2=FALSE ../freedv-1.3
Since FreeDV otherwise insists on downloading and building Codec2 as a
static dependency, I'm assuming its make recipe will also need to be
updated with a new codec2 version number once you finalize an update to
codec2?
The cmake recipe for that appears to be in cmake/BuildCodec2.cmake at
about line 17.
But again, definitely a big step in the right direction.
