Hello List,

Some recent work:

1/ I've done a bit of spring cleaning of codec2-dev, removed some legacy
files, updated codec2-dev/README:

  https://svn.code.sf.net/p/freetel/code/codec2-dev/README

Actually, its Summer here in .au, but you get the idea.

2/ I've started adding automated tests using the Ctest framework
suggested by Richard:

  $ cd codec2-dev
  $ svn up
  $ cd build_linux
  $ cmake ..
  $ make all test

You'll need Octave installed for some of the tests, see
codec2-dev/README for a list of packages, and more notes on how to run
the Ctests.

3/ Don continues his excellent work on a FreeDV 700D port for the stm32.
 He has also built up an impressive list of automated tests for the LDPC
codec and OFDM modem - even more so as they run on Discovery type
development boards automatically.

4/ I've been working with Jean-Marc on his LPCNet neural net based
speech synthesis system. Well, following his work would be a better way
of putting it - he's the expert here and I am still (deep) learning!
This technology is showing a lot of promise for high quality speech
coding in the 2000 bit/s range.

5/ Alan - thanks for your continued work of your parrot repeater system :-)

6/ Steve has done some fine work on speeding up (lowing the CPU load) of
700D.

7/ FreeDV GUI has had some edits to the GUI to assist operation by blind
Hams, thanks Brad and Joe.

Cheers,

David
