Hi Patryk, I don't think there is any comprehensive documentation of FreeDV 1600 anywhere, but the C code is there for inspection:
http://svn.code.sf.net/p/freetel/code/codec2-dev/src/codec2.c Search on "codec2_encode_1300" for the Codec 2 1300 mode bit allocation. freedv_api.c is where the 1600 mode is put together, describes which bits are protected.
