Sorry guys, On 22nd March lightning here in Emu Heights NSW destroyed: FT-450 FT-977 ADSL router on Telstra line Phone base on the Optus HFC cable 2x PCs, "main", "backup" and my wife's Hackintosh.
BUT, no data loss, all hard disks survived. I put "main"'s disk in another box, works. Thanks to "Linux", no hassles, none. The Hackintosh required a s/h motherboard and now boots from a USB stick. Well, it works. I said to the PC sales guy who recommends a NAS, 8 years in the future lightning strikes, the NAS m/b and p/s are blown, can you guarantee the hard disks are readable? No answer!! That's why I use Linux for "main" and "backup". --------------------------------------------------- Alan Beard OpenWebMail 2.53 _______________________________________________ Freetel-codec2 mailing list Freetel-codec2@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freetel-codec2
