Sorry guys,

On 22nd March lightning here in Emu Heights NSW destroyed:
FT-450
FT-977
ADSL router on Telstra line
Phone base on the Optus HFC cable
2x PCs, "main", "backup" and my wife's Hackintosh.

BUT, no data loss, all hard disks survived.

I put "main"'s disk in another box, works.

Thanks to "Linux", no hassles, none.

The Hackintosh required a s/h motherboard and now boots from
a USB stick. Well, it works.

I said to the PC sales guy who recommends a NAS, 8 years in the future
lightning strikes, the NAS m/b and p/s are blown, can you guarantee the
hard disks are readable? 

No answer!!

That's why I use Linux for "main" and "backup".
