An easy way to export data is to use a shell script, eg
#!/bin/sh
mysqldump --tab=/path/to/exportdir dbname
#
This produces tab delimited files, one for each table, as well as sql for
each table.
try
mysqldump --help
for more info
mysqlimport --help to find out how to reverse the process
All this requires telnet/ssh1 access to your linux box
