This issue has been discussed in the past, so it makes sense to put an
answer in the FAQ. To allow one installation to run many shops would
require a change to the database. You might be able to get away with
just matching each department up to a store. You could change the search
screen so that it only searched through items in one store. You probably
would also want to have separate navigation modules for each store.
So, the short answer is that it's possible, but would take some work.
This begs the question of whether it should be done. It changes the
original
intent of the project enough that it probably warrants a branch. That is,
a separate project could be set up that starts with the FreeTrade base and
customizes it to be a mall.
