Ok, just downloaded and I just thought of one more damning thing for this
software...
It is under the GPL license...gag...that is the entirely wrong license for a
piece of software like this (ie: ecommerce) because of the viral nature of
the GPL.
So, they are a complete non-competitor in my eyes.
They have the following going against them:
#1. GPL license
#2. Not easily portable to other OS's. (jFreeTrade will run on anything that
a JVM will run on and FreeTrade will run on anything that PHP will run on).
#3. it is done with Perl.
#4. They now have VC people breathing down their throats.
What do we have going against us?
We don't have $10m in funding to waste. :-)
