I hope this problem was resolved. I'll just add my two cents, although I
think Kelley has explained FreeTrade's operation completely. If FreeTrade
is configured to send mail, but the server is overloaded and mail seems to
be bouncing...it's sounds like sendmail might need some tweaks to its
configuration.
I've been in this situation, where a Web site suddenly gets ten times the
regular traffic. My advice there is to buy more hardware. If you're
selling tons of stuff, you probably can justify it. Restoration Hardware's
site is running on three machines, two Web servers and one database server.
It's been running smoothly for nearly a year and can handle lots of traffic.
