Mike, I know you're asking for help setting up FreeTrade, but what you
really need is to evaluate what you're trying to accomplish with the store
in the first place. Once we nail that down, I can quickly tell you whether
FreeTrade makes sense for you. Consider these questions:

1. Can your business afford $300/month in server fees?

2. Will you be accepting credit card payments?

3. Are you comfortable hacking PHP and MySQL? Have you ever used the mysql
command shell?

I'd say the typical FreeTrade implementor will answer yes to all three
questions, and they will be working with a dedicated box (now as cheap as
$200/month from some ISPs). With a dedicated box you reduce the risk of
others stealing your data, and you should have full control to customize the
configuration.

If you answer no to any of the questions, I'd guess that FreeTrade isn't for
you. A site that plans on making a few sales a month is fine, but it
doesn't need a huge, complex solution like FreeTrade.

We probably are a bit above average in documentation, though we can't match
projects with money behind them like eGrail or Scarab. We do have a
friendly list of people who are fairly patient. So, if you do choose
FreeTrade, you will have some support.

Leon
