This sounds like the exact same problem I had when I upgraded to 4.0.2. I
was told it was a bug in php and I ended up installing an earlier version of
php to resolve it. Since then I've installed 4.0.3 pl1 and it works fine.

Yes, I am using 4.0.2 with Apache and FreeBSD. Is there a cure or need I
wait for FreeTrade version 2? I was hoping to get my site working before
the christmas shopping season.
