Hello Tom, Werner, and David,

I’m very sorry to bother you guys directly, but I’m a software developer working on a CFF font implementation for our PDF output module and I’ve run into a problem.  We assumed (based on the CFF spec) that we could get away with using Type 1 charstrings for now.  We now know, however that this won’t work and need to close the loop on this quickly.

I need to convert a list of type 1 charstrings to type 2 charstrings.  In reading the spec, this does not seem as easy as I’d anticipated and it looks like freetype could be used to do this.  I’m reading through the code now to see if I can achieve this, but I thought I would make sense to ask you three if you had any input on how to achieve this quickly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob
