This is probably caused by the new default for the fallback hinter:
It's no longer `latin' but `cjk'.  It seems that this needs some more
fine tuning.  Please try to set

  #define AF_SCRIPT_LIST_DEFAULT  1

instead of value 2 in afglobal.c and report the results.
