the 'alphabet.ps' example file with ghostscript shows the problem with
the type1 loader's num_glyphs check. I'll see if I can reduce the
truetype test down to something simple.
I can reduce the original PDF file if required, just let me know. Because
we're using the incremental interface I think its not easy to create a test
without using GS.
BTW it is possible that we are using FT inappropriately here, I'm not yet
familiar enough with either our own code or FT to have a useful opinion.
