If you decide to use the GPL, this is necessary I think, but perhaps a
link to the sources is sufficient (but sometimes links become
stale...); I'm uncertain about this. For the FTL, it's not necessary.

The same here. However, I would be glad to incorporate any changes
back into FreeType.
