received - but yet I don't have sufficient time to review the code, I apologize

Please could you allow me to ask a question before reviewing the code...?
FreeType2 has a functions like FT_Outline_Embolden() and FT_Outline_Transform()
to synthesize an embolden glyph and a slanted glyph from existing glyph data.
What was the insufficient point in these functions for you and motivated you to
develop your patch?

Hi, FreeType:
We are Taishan IT, a Chinese compoany. We are using FreeType and we had
improved some features:
1, For font italic, now can give and value.
2, For font line, now can be thicker or bolder by weight.
3, New type for font italic. Chinese language has a Top To Bottom text
direction, and the font italic is top to bottom.
We hope to meet those code at next version. And we are working hard to
improve bitmap features. We hope to open source this year.

1, source code improved by tsit.
2, Image for Font italic, chinese font italic mode, and the italic value is
0.35(default is 0.20).
