U+0431 is abnormally bold on the left side in DejaVu Serif with full hinting at 15 ppem. It looks great without full hinting. See second glyth in the attached snapshot. This is painfully obvious at 15 ppem and to a lesser extent at other sizes. I wouldn't blame this on the font completely, because Times.ttf has the same problem, while Georgia.ttf doesn't.
I would imagine that U+0431 should be quite similar to 6 ("six") as
far as rendering goes.
This is in addition to other tiny cyrillic glitches, that are not showstoppers.
