Hello,

I've successfully compiled freetype on Windows 10 within a Cygnus environment,
creating an archive lib and then building the demos from that. When I execute
ftview.exe, frinit.c/grInitDevices()/chain is null, causing grNewSurface() to
return null, and generating the "could not allocate display surface" error
message.

I thought using Cygwin might a problem, so I compiled a DLL in Visual Studio
and created a new solution specifically for ftview.c. Once I got that compiled
outside of Cygwin, I get the same failure mode.

If possible, could someone provide me with a best known method to build
freetype and the demos correctly on Windows?

Many Thanks in Advance,
-Thomas
