Hi,
On my French Cable (Analog) Network, I still have 3 channels with time
splitted diffusion : One diffuser in the day, another starting at 7 PM.
So I set the TV_CHANNELS accordingly, for example :
('C21.telepoche.com', 'Canal J', '34',
('1234567','0600','1859')),
('C22.telepoche.com', 'Jimmy', '34',
('1234567','1900','0559')),
But what is the use of that (apart allowing to see the two programs in
the program list) ?
One aesthetical drawback is that, in the TV guide, the two programs are
complete, even if I cannot record (in my sample) 'Canal J' program
during night. If I do that, I'll actually record 'Jimmy'.
Another drawback lays in some Next/previous Channels funct in
channels.py. In particular, I cannot use the 'previous key on my remote
(in the ivtv_xine plugin, but as far as I can read python, that plugin
is using channels.py funct to do the work). The previous key works as
expected on 'single diffusers channels', but on dual diffusers channels,
the previous channel is actually the same :-) I think that this could be
corrected without to much work (even by me :-D )
Last point : this break totally the 'direct channel access. My first
splitted channel is the seven's t in the list. If I try to access
channel 1 to 7 in the list, everything is OK. If I wish t direct select
the eighth channel (like on a classical TV), I have to select 9, and
so on. Not very WAF compliant (and not very HAF, too ;-) ) .
I think that it could be 'not to hard' to correct these two later
troubles, creating one more table 'on the fly' at the initialization.
But I'm not sure that this is the best approach, due to the former.
Any Ideas ?
