There should be two versions of mplayervis both work in different ways for full screen scaling. mplayervis1 uses a pygoom doubler and mplayervis2 uses mplayer and the bmovl. Lastfm, the first version is using the old lastfm API and lastfm2 uses the new version. Clearly the first version will be removed when the old API no longer works. lastfm2 is a rewrite but is a bit new to be 100% stable. Probable should get rid of reencode, for the next release. > I would really like to see such plugins either integrated (to combine all > advantages, allow for auto-detection of e.g. alsa vs. oss, and possibly > include meaningful configuration options instead of toggling plugins with > very similar names) or better documented, so that a user can easily see which > is the plugin he or she will want to use. I guess that no one uses oss any more but not got round to cleaning up the alsa versions of the mixer. I don't use the mixer, except when testing, as the PC is connected to an AV receiver and the mixer is bypassed. OT I'm quite impressed with the video quality of HDMI when connected directly to a LCD TV it is better than a DVD player connected with a SCART cable. Analogue TV now looks disgusting, which it is LCD TVs. One long lasting problem that I have had has been fixed by adding a sound card to the system. The problem was that when anyone switched on a light somewhere in the apartment block the audio dropped out for about a second.
