Sounds reasonable to me. Freevo's framebuffer support originates in the 
days when the Matrox G400 was a popular choice as CRT TVs were the only 
(sitting room) display option. I think it's not unreasonable at this 
stage to move on and require X. Those who really still need framebuffer 
could always stick with freevo-1.x as opposed to freevo 1 NG.

Given the support for UPnP in most media centric devices now it seems 
like an obvious choice for freevo to move towards it so I'd certainly 
see that as a step forward.
