OK, I played around with that a bit. There really needs to be a faster way for me to switch around between distant channels, though. I also need to go through the config to find out how to get rid of mplayer's overlay mode. I'm doing this all on my workstation and need to anchor the tv window to one desktop, while I do other things on other desktops. I imagine it's just an mplayer option I need to sort out. I plan to use the PVR board in a set top box and go back to my WinTV card for my workstation. But it sure is nice to be able to record good quality mpegs from the tuner without a huge cpu hit.
