While this is probably sensible for the default, I would prefer if you don't remove the record_daemon.py stuff. It works very well for me, and while I'm happy to try out all the nice stuff, I want to make sure things continue to work, since I use this for all my TV stuff now.

I have never seen record_server crash not because of something that was just broke in the code. Also, mine is running from inittab so if something killed it or it bombed on something wierd it will be restarted - that part is very important to me... it needs to be very stable.
