I'm afraid it's not working for me yet; so don't remove
record_daemon.py just yet.

The issues I'm aware of:
* recordserver doesn't ever stop recording
* Xine DVD plugin should intercept the 'EXIT' remote button because
currently, it just 'kills' xine, leaving the display and audio in
an ususable state.
