That wouldn't be hard, IF we always controlled the mute, but for
example, on my system, my mute button affects the stereo reciever, not
Freevo. But it's fairly trivial to combine the mute with a 'display
osd' message.

feh is X-only, isn't it? The scale/move feature could be done with
pygame, but I don't know about a smooth fade...
