md5 is slow. maybe we can recriate the previous file place inside mmpython cachedir? I mean:
Well, it's not /that/ slow, and it does pretty much guarantee uniqueness... we use it elsewhere I'm pretty sure. It doesn't matter if it's md5, just a unique hash.
