One problem is that xine's stdctl maps one command to one function call and doesn't parse the stdctl command for arguments. I have a modified xine cvs that does this though, I had to add it in order to get xine to change the channel based on Freevo's frequency table. My C kinda sucks but I can provide you with a patch. Perhaps you can make it acceptable. ;)
