All rolled into 1 handy freevo package. Just install it, run "freevo
encodingserver start" to start the server and edit your config to include
"plugin.activate('video.dvdbackup") ...

Usage... Select a dvd/dvd-on disc, go to the title list, select that and hit
encode this dvd. You then have a small choice of codecs and sizes (HQ is a
multipass rip btw). For best quality use XViD because encodingserver will
then try to selected the best resized resolution for the output file in order
to give maximum quality (a bit like GordianKnot's resize thing if you know
that, but automagically). After a few hours, the encoded avi will popup in
your (first) movie directory. Have fun :)

Requirements - mencoder and mplayer in your path. Mplayer v1.0_pre3 is
supported, but other 1.0_pre*s should work. 0.9* has a small chance of
working, although i didn't test that. Mplayer should be compiled with XVid
support (ie you should have xvid libs installed) if you want to use xvid
(highly recommended). Divx uses lavc wich is included with mplayer afaik.

Remeber, this is a beta so it's not 100% finished yet. The encodingserver has
currently a lot of extra features that the plugin doesn't use, so if people
want to make a better plugin or a webserver plugin (would be really nice, but
i can't code html), please do so. I made a nice documentation for devloppers
that want to use encodingserver here :

Fry: "Very impressive. Back in the 20th century we had no idea there was a
university on Mars."
Prof. Farnsworth: "Well in those days Mars was just a dreary uninhabitable
wasteland... much like Utah. But unlike Utah, it was eventually made livable,
when the university was founded in 2636."
Leela: "They planted traditional college foliage: ivy, trees, hemp...."
