Are you using the Quick Install (freevo*tgz)?
Check that the freevo package and runtime are installed
properly in
/usr/local/freevo. If you're using 1.5pre1 you should also
update
mmpython manually (copy it over the mmpython subdir in the
runtime hierarchy)

This error shouldn't happen if you're using the system
installed RPM packages (see the RedHatInstallation page in
the Wiki). I'm running the system installed freevo on RedHat
9 which doesn't exhibit this problem.
