Greetings,

I decided to write a script in perl to use with freevo (freevo.sourceforge.net) that would fetch shoutcast listings from www.shoutcast.com for display from within the shoutcast application. I have it written, and tried to test it, but shoutcast bans persons that try to access more than 600 streams in one day. What my script was doing was scraping all the genres on shoutcast, looking for url's that end in .pls, and attempts to download the .pls file for later processing.

Of course this gets me banned when there are over 5000+ streams.

If I can get this working, it could be put in cron as a way to keep the webradio fxd files fresh.

Would anyone want to help me figure out a way to get this working?

I've attached the script.
