Summary: Problem playing music CD

Initial Comment:
I tried to play music form a music CD with the lastest
freevo 1.5.0. It doesn't work anymore. The files are not
played, but skipped until the last one.
With my local conf, I use audio.xine. I tried playing the
same music cd directly with xine and it wors fine.
So the problem comes from freevo and not from a
hardware configuration problem.
I don't know if the problem comme from freevo or
mmpython.

Here is a trace in debug mode:
---
self.t1.isAlive()=True, self.t2.isAlive()=True
ChildApp.__init__(), pid=28832, app=/usr/bin/fbxine -V
none -A alsa1x:spdif --st
dctl --no-lirc cfg:/input.cdda_device:/dev/cdrom
cdda:/1, poll=256
self.t1.isAlive()=True, self.t2.isAlive()=True
ChildApp.__init__(), pid=28839, app=/usr/bin/fbxine -V
none -A alsa1x:spdif --st
dctl --no-lirc cfg:/input.cdda_device:/dev/cdrom
cdda:/2, poll=-1

Hi,

OK I found the bug early morning (I think yesterday evening, I
was a bit too sleepy ;)
The problem was with the definition of XINE_AO_DEV. I
used "alsa1x:spif". But now I must set it only to "alsa".

All is OK with playing music CD now. So you can close this
bug.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Stéphane

P.S.: I have an other bug with unicode problem when
detecting cd. I will do another bug report.

I also use the audio.xine for cd's. Please confirm, when
'copying and pasting' the command from your log file it
works fine.
ie:
/usr/bin/fbxine -V none -A alsa1x:spdif --st dctl --no-lirc
cfg:/input.cdda_device:/dev/cdrom cdda:/2

If so, then its likely you have a permissions issue, maybe
the freevo user cannot access /dev/cdrom?

I use 1.5.0, *without* the new UID/permission stuff in my
local_conf.

Hi,

I tested 1.5.1, and still have got the same problem. When I
insert a music cd, it's right detected, I have a list with Tack1,
Tack 2, ... or the songs names. When I select one track, it
switch to display an image on the left and "properties" of the
song on the right. But it doesn't play anything. If I Selected
track 2, it launches track 2 but skip after 0 second to track 3
and then to track 4, ... without playing any music.

Do you have any solution, it starts to be a problem for me.

Hi,

I made more test yesterday evening and there is no bug in
the previous version I installed (1.5-rc2). I can read music
cdrom with 1.5-rc2, but I can't with 1.5.0.

So this problem doesn't come from the mmpython upgrade.
