does vdrpylib use timeouts when waiting for an answer from vdr ? using nc to connect to the svdrp port, i'm able to set up a sitution where it takes vdr a long time to answer a 'HITK key'. Most of the time the '250 Key "key" accepted' response is immediate. But when it's not it seems vdrpylib uses a lot off cpu ressources waiting for it.
I guess timeouts would make vdrpylib stops waiting (using all the cpu ressources). the fact vdr is very long to answer a command, i'm able to reproduce it with VDR_USE_SVDRP=0. But in that case vdr.py doesn't wait for an answer and it doesn't use all the cpu ressources. hmm another thing, it's a bit annoying when vdrpylib crashes freevo because it can't establish a connection to vdr. ;-) i'm going to look if I can help fixing those things. -- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
