X_DISPLAY_MISSING is set during compilation of imlib2. That mean,

Well, I use directFB now. Is that available on 2.0 at this moment?
DirectFB under Freevo still uses imlib2 for the backend (at least
until I finish the DirectFb backend - in progress). Have you tried
building your own imlib2 or are you using a package?
