Hi everybody! There seems to be an annoying problem with tv.ivtv_record, when watching TV and a recording should happen on the same device. What actually happens is worse than a failing recording: - I am watching TV (mplayer runs on /dev/video0) - suddenly, the channel changes (i.e. the recordserver did the ioctls) - furthermore, the recordserver creates the recording-lockfile - but then, it tries to acces /dev/video0 and gets a /device busy/ error: 2005/03/21 22:14 CET [*RecordServer*] IOError: [Errno 16] Device or resource busy - the recordserver terminates and leaves the lockfile behind, so I cannot watch TV nor record sth. anymore, I have to do a manual cleanup. :-( [Especially bad when that happens to my girlfriend when I am not at home..]
BTW: This is with freevo CVS/rel-1-5 running as user, not root. Actually, the most stressy time is behind me, so maybe I can help to fix it if noone else does. (Any hints/ideas maybe?) Nice greetings, Hans
