Is it just me, or is this just a workaround? If freevo cache fails on
sockets (like ~/.kde/socket-servername) , shouldn't freevo cache be
fixed instead of ignoring directories where these files might be
located?

I'm not saying that ignoring hidden directories is a bad thing, but
reason why you want to ignore them seems... wrong.. to me.
